I cannot express my immense gratitude at the opportunity I was given this fall to meet Kit. Kit has lived in 24 places throughout her lifetime and she had been on a wonderful journey. Kit believes that moving for her entire life as well as her faith have become integral to her identity and who she is. I’m inclined to agree. Every place that Kit has been has been touched by her generosity and kindness. In return Kit has taken every opportunity to learn from each community she has been a part of and to grow within herself to discover more ways that she can be of service to others.
Interviewing Kit has been nothing short of extraordinary. She is a remarkable woman.

Kit believes firmly in a sign she once had that read, “We should bloom where we are planted”. Kit has embraced this phrase completely by ensuring that she is doing everything she can in every place that she has been.
Kit has spent her life surrounded by God and those who love him. Her parents and extended family that she grew up with instilled in her a deep sense of faith and gratitude for the community of church. Kit’s passion for being involved in the church has allowed her to help many people and be involved in numerous causes. During our first meeting it was immediately clear to me how important faith has been in Kit’s life.
Kit believes that we are all children of God. Even when she becomes exasperated with people she strives to remember this to help her understand people better. As she has grown older her life has become more about looking outside of herself to understand what can be done for other people. Kit believes in the power of volunteer work and that her little bit with others’ little bit can make a real difference.
